The Twelve Senses: Sensing Justice in the Encounter

The twelfth and highest sense is the ability to live into the I-being of another person – for one human being to be able to truly and fully perceive another. An individual whose twelve senses are fully developed would instantly perceive another person’s experience of inequity and injustice, free from judgment or self-interest.

Keynote addresses by Joan Sleigh (South Africa), Dr. Lakshmi Prasanna (India),Jean-Michel Florin (France), and Michael Kokinos (Australia). These talks will bring the conference themes to life through the speakers’ deep experience in education, the medical and healing arts, and biodynamic agriculture.

Warmth - A hidden Element in Child Development by Dr Lakshmi by Childrens Garden Kindercare

ONLINE EVENT

Dr. Lakshmi Prasanna speaking on Warmth - A hidden Element in Child Development. Thursday 22nd July 2021 at 8pm - 9.15pm (Melbourne Time)

About this event

Dear Childrens Garden Community,

We are extremely excited to announce Dr Lakshmi Prasanna will be talking from India ONLINE on Thursday 22nd July 2021 8pm - 9.15pm (Melbourne Time) on: Warmth - A hidden Element in Child Development. The talk will go for one hour and there will be 15 minutes for questions

If you register and are unable to attend Live we can send you the recording of the session.

Lakshmi is a neonatal specialist paediatrician who lectures internationally and in different Steiner communities within Australia. She is a highly intuitive leader who is trained in western medicine, Ayurvedic and anthroposophical medicine and she ran a large hospital in India at the age of 28. She has been supportive of my work and the centre for a decade and has done numerous parent and staff talks since we opened in 2011. We highly recommend her to all parents and educators for inspiration and learning, as she speaks from a place of wisdom and experience.

‘In large parts of modernised society, over the last 30 years, we have seen a tendency toward degeneration of the human warmth organisation. In general, body temperatures have lowered; the capacity to react with a fever to infections has declined and is often weakened by antipyretic and antibiotic treatments. To maintain the age-old wisdom theory, that humans are warm blooded, which is the basis for the soul’s ability to develop humanly; therapies and medicines need to address the above developing coldness’.

Donations are appreciated to support Lakshmi's work $5 - $35.

Warm Regards,

Over the past year we have been working without models and composing our work in the midst of a pandemic and global culture change. A seismic shift in the way we live and work in the world has been imprinted, but the answers to the questions of how we move forward are within each one of us, waiting to be discovered.

The challenges we are presented with require a deeper understanding of our own biography, development, and perceptions. A knowing that is hard to come by in isolation. As leaders, whether that be of a classroom, consultation room, school, or community organization, we can find ourselves in search of ways to commune with others, learn from their experiences and understanding, while also being cautious of how much to share about our work and our role. Traditional educational leadership carries with it the obsolete notion that those in authority should have all the answers and should somehow separate personal involvement from our roles.

Waldorf Education on the other hand, has at its very foundation, the understanding of the self that is grounded in the inner work of every individual. This foundational tenet will lead us to a renewed understanding of our responsibilities as leaders within our communities.

The gifts of our necessary distance and requirement to meet virtually over the last twelve months has enabled Dr. Lakshmi Prasanna to bring together people that celebrate and highlight our global diversity. She developed a gathering process to form groups as thoughtful and meditative as the lectures and reflections that she brings to the group during its meetings.

This cohort has been brought together to support those in leadership positions at a time in history when the renewal and reimagination of Waldorf education is a vital necessity in the development of our global community. Dr. Lakshmi’s goal is to guide into balance the intellectual soul and the well-being and health promotion of Waldorf Schools as well as individuals and groups supporting the entire lifecycle of development.
